Getson & Schatz, P.C. immigration lawyers in New York frequently represent US Citizens who wish to have a fiancee come to the United States so they can get married and spend the rest of their lives together in the United States. We represented a US Citizen who sponsored his Canadian fiancee and her derivative child for K visas. The I-129F petition was approved and we thereafter assisted in completing the documents necessary for the Consular Interview. The fiancee had a juvenile conviction in Canada which we disclosed on the DS-160 application along with providing a copy of the certified court record and an explanation as to why the juvenile conviction did not make her inadmissible to the United States. The fiancee and her derivative child were granted K visas following an interview at the US Embassy in Montreal, Canada. They entered the US and the fiancee married the US Citizen within 90 days of entry and thereafter she and her derivative child each filed an I-485 application for adjustment of status. The adjustment of status applications were approved and the fiancee and her derivative child were each granted conditional green cards valid for 2 years.
